The optimization of the accuracy of five-axis machine tools through the complete correction of geometric axis errors is very complex. This work examines two approaches to address this issue. On one hand, it analyzes to what extent overarching errors can be defined, through the correction of which a sufficient increase in accuracy can already be achieved. On the other hand, a calibration method is developed and qualified that allows for faster identification of the errors.
