The aim of this work is to simplify the simulation-based design of propulsion drives. Object-oriented programming is used to manage model complexity, and mathematical optimization is employed to explore the search space. A library for modeling propulsion drives is developed using Modelica. Various methods for determining optimal components and parameters are evaluated for optimization.
