We live in the world of dubbing in Germany. This means that regardless of the country of origin of a film, the characters on the screen speak German. This fact has been utilized for the present study to describe voice qualities. Within German dubbing, certain character types are assigned distinctive voice types. Using this fact for the exploration and description of vocal and speaker-related auditory impressions is a relatively untouched area of research so far.
