Continuous roll grinding is one of the most productive methods for the fine machining of face gear teeth. Despite its extensive industrial use, scientific knowledge about the process is still limited. One challenge is the process design, which often relies on the user's experiential knowledge. This work highlights the relationships at play, with a focus on predicting the microstructural influences in the component's edge zone.
