The present work is based on the hypothesis that organizational culture serves as a mediator between exogenous design elements and business success. The result is an explanatory model that examines the success of production systems in SMEs from the perspective of corporate cultural factors and derives self-reinforcing feedback loops between external management levers, endogenous employee behavior patterns, and business success based on system-theoretical considerations.
