Just as Sufism is significant in Islam, the Bhakti path holds a special place in Hindu tradition as a form of mysticism. Both share many common traits, including the central importance of divine love and its various approaches to the Supreme Reality - God. Observing their mutual closeness despite evident differences, I found it desirable to write a comparative study that highlights the essential core of both: the experience of Divine Love. The growing interest in the rediscovery and reinterpretation of humanity's spiritual heritage cannot overlook what we understand as Islamic mysticism. This includes great, albeit sometimes lesser-known, names such as Attar, al-Ghazzali, Mansur al-Hallaj, Ibn Arabi, and many others, especially the great poet and saint.
