Markus Wiese lives and works in Dortmund. Since 1986, he has been active as a sprayer under the pseudonym Mason. Initially, his spray radius was limited to the Dortmund area. In 1990, he had his first solo exhibition. In 1991, he visited New York, followed by further exhibitions and work as an image author for various graffiti magazines in 1992. He made additional visits to New York afterward. Since 1993, Markus Wiese has also been earning his living through commissioned work.
