Product details
The way people work is constantly changing. Working from home is currently very popular. However, home office is not a modern invention. In the past, the home of the owner was also the company headquarters. It was only with the advent of public transportation that people gathered in factories and offices. During this time, skyscrapers with open-plan offices emerged in the USA, which also served for productivity control. For a long time, people were tied to their desks because they needed typewriters, folders, paper, and later PCs. This has fundamentally changed with laptops and mobile devices. One can work from anywhere. This was truly discovered during the pandemic. Today, many employees do not want to return to the office from their home office. How are companies and institutions dealing with this new situation? How do they bring employees back to the office? Because only in the office do a sense of community and belonging develop. Many ideas do not arise in video meetings but spontaneously in the workplace. The trend is moving towards companies offering similar comforts as at home: with kitchens, dining areas, gyms, outdoor spaces with gardens, and guest rooms. Work and private life are merging on a whole new level. This issue of the cultural magazine 'Du' showcases examples of how companies are responding to this development.
