An archive (new building) and an archive relocation are extraordinary challenges that most participants will only face once in their professional lives. In this volume, various project stakeholders (architects, archivists, clients, IT specialists, project managers, shelving planners, restorers, relocation logistics experts, etc.) share their insights and expertise that contributed to the successful construction and relocation of one of Germany's largest archives, the Rheinland department of the North Rhine-Westphalia State Archive, to Duisburg. The experiences compiled here from the collaboration during the construction and relocation are intended to assist future projects of this kind in their preparation, planning, and execution, both practically and communicatively.
