Abdullah comes from Syria. He is 16 when he flees from his hometown of Ar-Raqqa. His older brother was abducted, and his father was killed in a bombing. As the threat grew, his family provided him with money. Abdullah made his way to Germany. In a youth home, he finds safety and a new place to live. However, the arrival is not easy: Abdullah experiences firsthand that refugees like him are insulted as "Islamic rats." He constantly feels suspicious glances. Yet he also receives friendly help time and again, which gives him hope. Hope for his future in Germany, in a world without war.
