The terms sports, history, and education not only outline Michael Krüger's long-standing work in research and teaching, but they also represent the traditional horizon of physical exercise and physical education. This festschrift for Michael Krüger's 60th birthday brings together international contributions from authors across four generations, who draw on these traditions, interpret them, and bring them to life. At the same time, the essays also serve as a bridge to a modern sports history and pedagogy.
