Where I have succeeded in the clinic, in a chapter of surgery, thanks to my own sufficient investigations, in providing my students with clear clinical pictures, I have generally had the satisfaction of being pleased with my students' performances. The observations on fractures of the upper arm and thigh that we were able to make over 23 years at the surgical clinic in Bern are very numerous.
