Product details

Breathtaking, this duo! Tall, icy, craggy. No fixed ropes, no cable cars, no helicopter landing spots. Mountain huts make access easier, but the journey to both summits is long in any case. On the side of Saas Fee and on the side of Randa and Täsch. There are more comfortable mountains in the Alps. But prouder, more authentic, higher ones? The latter, indeed. However, the Dom (4545 m) is the fifth highest peak in Switzerland and the highest entirely within the country. The Täschhorn is just 54 m shorter, but more challenging to climb. Challenges for mountaineers, visual feasts for mountain tourists, inspiration for adventurers, material for homebodies. We get to know the two men who first ascended the Dom and Täschhorn within four years: the Zermatt mountain guide Johann Zumtaugwald and the English clergyman John Llewelyn Davies. For the first time, we can read the royal, core, and creative text by Mar in German.
