There are good reasons for psychotherapists to engage with dizziness, its various facets, and promising therapeutic options: dizziness is common, and about 30 to 60% of all forms of dizziness have at least a relevant psychogenic component. Drawing from over 20 years of experience in a psychosomatic clinic, psychological factors are presented that can be integrated into medical and psychotherapeutic work with dizziness patients, with a focus on change and action relevance. A detailed therapy section provides practical suggestions for safely managing patients affected by dizziness, which should also give therapists the necessary confidence in dealing with dizziness. At the same time, a therapeutic attitude is needed that offers sufficient support to the dizzy individual.
