Even though we understand that God's love is at the center, we must recognize that there is an enemy - a very active and powerful enemy - whose main occupation is to thwart God's ways. This enemy is anti-love, anti-God; he is against everything that God does and stands for. He hates God and uses all means at his disposal to hinder His work, especially regarding the loving relationship with His favorite creations, namely us. Yet many evangelical Christians behave as if the enemy does not exist at all. In our sermons, our teachings, and in our daily lives, we act as if the devil and his forces are not a problem.
