Product details
The period of the investigation encompasses the beginning of the ancient Egyptian New Kingdom with the 18th Dynasty. It addresses the question of to what extent we can characterize the foreign policy actions of the ancient Egyptian state during this period as imperialistic. Utilizing insights from history and political science, this book establishes a theoretical foundation against which the source material is analyzed. The results show that ancient Egypt significantly influenced its neighbors in Nubia and the Near East during the 18th Dynasty to achieve its political objectives. Examples include military means such as warfare and political means in the form of appointing vassals.
