The benefit to the community dominated the pension insurance policy of the Reich Ministry of Labor during the Nazi dictatorship. The implementation of statutory pension insurance did not undergo fundamental changes during the time of National Socialism - this has been the prevailing assumption in historical research. In reality, the policy of the Reich Ministry of Labor led to considerations of utility for the community playing a dominant role in the allocation of pension benefits. Supposedly idle labor among the beneficiaries of pension insurance was thus redirected to the Nazi labor deployment. The basis for this development was a change in the administrative structures at the middle and lower levels of the statutory pension insurance system.
