Daphne is eighty years old and senses that she will soon have to move into a nursing home. She reminisces about her youth when she lived in Tibet and had the opportunity to study in a monastery. There, she meets and falls in love with Jimpa, but their love is forbidden. Jimpa is killed. Near death, he promises her that he will find her again in the next life. Marc is a caretaker and feels a deep connection to the old woman from the very first moment.
