The story of a young laboratory doctor who experiences the whims of the economy and is dismissed from his job. Still the owner of a villa in the best part of the city, he soon finds himself in the gutter. Time and again, he tries to get his life in order, and one of these paths leads him to North Africa along the Nile. There, he unwittingly becomes entangled in the intrigues of various intelligence agencies, which are fighting each other.
