Since the first edition of this work, significant progress has been made in the application of botulinum toxin. Its use is now considered the first-line therapy for numerous indications, and it has become firmly established for many other indications in neurology, pediatrics, dermatology, urology, and pain therapy. The intensive focus on anatomy in recent years, as well as the routine use of sonography as a diagnostic tool, have also had a significant positive impact on treatment outcomes. Both have contributed decisively to the standardization and quality assurance in the treatment with botulinum toxin. It is therefore only logical that a comprehensive and thorough revision of the previous edition was necessary. The atlas has retained its proven organizational concept in this new edition.
