With the division of the world into private inner realms and an outer world between them, significant parts of normal life experience have been lost to human understanding since Plato and Aristotle, such as the tangible body and atmospheres. Hermann Schmitz, who has dedicated himself to overcoming this division of the world, introduced atmospheres as a theme in philosophy in 1969. In the present book, he presents the current state of his reflections on this topic in eight essays from recent years.
