This timeless classic from 1930, illustrated by the great Walter Trier, was long considered lost. Now it is being released in a new edition for young and old readers to (re)discover. Lutz is in a huge rush on the last school day before the holidays. He has overslept, and of all days, he absolutely does not want to have to stay after school today. Luckily, a man in a car stops, introducing himself as Mr. Eidechs, who offers to take Lutz to school. However, Mr. Eidechs's car turns out to be a wonder car. It has countless switches and levers, and not only is it incredibly fast, but it can also jump over stones, open foreign locks, and its horn even speaks all animal languages. When Mr. Eidechs makes Lutz the new owner of the wonder car, he invites his best friend for a joyride. With the help of the wonder car, the two turn the city upside down.
