The investigation of attributive expressions in generative research often focuses on their embedding within the DP. In contrast, this work deals with the internal structure of attributes: What is the structural composition of these rarely studied constructions? Using German as an example, it is shown that the semantic concept of attribution can be clearly matched with a morphosyntactic counterpart. All complex attributive expressions in German are sentence-worthy.
