Which religious teacher doesn't know this? At the beginning of the lesson, a picture is presented to the students, which they are supposed to describe briefly, and once the topic of the lesson is recognized, it disappears back into the teacher's bag. Naturally, images are suitable for introducing a lesson topic. However, they often hold much more potential that is just waiting to be tapped into. The ideas presented in this resource encourage students to engage with their own identities through images, photos, and cartoons in an otherwise overstimulated everyday world. They learn to question their own attitudes and beliefs and to repeatedly initiate the practice of systematic perspective shifts. This enables competence-oriented religious education that also offers a great opportunity to reach even students who are indifferent to religion.
