How can we address the widespread disinterest in political topics among students in the classroom? Where do young people encounter poverty and unemployment in their daily lives today? Based on this question, this book compiles motivating materials on this subject. This makes it easier for students to recognize the connections between unemployment and poverty, as well as to understand the changing situation in the labor market during times of globalization. The causes of unemployment, the measures of state labor market policy, and the individual opportunities to avoid unemployment are conveyed through methodologically varied tasks. In addressing the issue of growing poverty in Germany, the author particularly aims to highlight the fundamental principles of social security and clarify the interconnections.
