Practice shows: When word problems are purely artificial constructs, students struggle to transfer their knowledge - they simply don't know what to calculate. Therefore, it is important for children in elementary school to be presented with word problems that relate to their everyday lives. This volume offers exactly that: a collection of 90 student-centered word problems that directly connect to the children's reality, making them very motivating. At the same time, they meet the requirements of educational standards and cover all areas of the mathematics curriculum. The word problems can be divided into three categories: Students either solve word problems related to themes and situations from their everyday lives or connect solving the problems with an active task, such as baking a cake.
