The exile stories featuring a previously unpublished film novella by Anna Seghers. Since February 1933, Anna Seghers lived in exile, first in France and then in Mexico. Despite the extremely burdensome existential circumstances, she was very productive. In addition to major novels like "The Seventh Cross," many stories of various structures were created. It is precisely this narrative diversity that characterizes this period. Alongside the famous myths and legends, there are masterful tales such as "The Outing of the Dead Girls" and "Post to the Promised Land." Most of these stories were written with a conscious eye on the events in Germany. They investigate, in everyday life and not just in extreme situations, whether and how humanity is preserved, empathy is cultivated, or rejected. For the first time, this volume presents the previously unpublished film novella.
