Art historian Lea learns that there is an object on a Hallig with an unclear origin: a Christ figure that the sea washed ashore in the 19th century. After a serious operation, Lea has a lot of time on her hands, so she sets off to Hooge for research purposes and immediately falls under the spell of this tiny patch of land. When she meets the Sylt organ builder Christoph there, she falls in love. Together, they stroll for hours along the dike, can talk about anything, enjoy the idyll, and decide to stay on Hooge together. However, when a local is seriously injured and medical help only arrives hours later, Lea becomes uncertain and the shadows of her illness return.
