Daisy Dalrymple is in New York with her newlywed husband, Alec Fletcher from Scotland Yard. While Alec travels to Washington for work, Daisy makes friends with some hotel guests at the famous Chelsea Hotel. During a meeting with the editor of the magazine she writes for, she suddenly hears a gunshot – a reporter is dead, but the murderer escapes unnoticed. Together with her new friends, Daisy gets involved in the investigation. A lead to the murderer takes her across the Roaring Twenties America and straight into great danger.
