This book provides a study aid for students of fluid mechanics, either as a supplement to lectures or in preparation for exams. The author's experience shows that success in fluid mechanics largely depends on the exercises completed. The book offers a collection of fully worked-out problems covering various topics and difficulty levels. The first chapter addresses the kinematics of fluids. This is followed by problems related to the continuum mechanics fundamentals of fluid dynamics. Here, applications of the conservation equations in integral and differential form are discussed, meaning solutions to the continuity equation, the momentum equation, as well as the angular momentum equation and the energy equation. In the subsequent chapters, the balance equations are simplified in a problem-oriented manner using technical examples, leading to closed-form solutions.
