Excited and full of anticipation, we looked to the future back then! Join us in reminiscing about the first 18 years of life - your childhood and youth. Born in 1966 in East Germany, we experienced a well-protected childhood and a tumultuous youth before the reunification. As babies in our strollers, we smelled of Elasan and Penaten cream. As kindergarten kids, we loved Pittiplatsch, bathed with Badusan, and enjoyed Moscow ice cream. In school, we wore red and blue neckerchiefs, while at home we watched Western television and flipped through forbidden comics. After our youth initiation ceremony, we zoomed to the disco in the countryside on mopeds, and after school, we rehearsed our rebellion against the state.
