For us children and teenagers, the 1940s and 1950s were often a difficult but eventful time. Kindergarten and school were marked by the ideological indoctrination of the Nazi rulers, but there were still opportunities for beautiful experiences even in the midst of wartime. Fürth was relatively spared from bombing attacks, and even with the arrival of the Americans, there were no major destructions. However, the end of the war changed everything for this generation. After days of looting and chaos, a new normal emerged, in which the rebuilding and a different form of coexistence gradually developed.
