Lübeck, the old Hanseatic city on the Baltic Sea, was an incomparable childhood home for us kids of the 60s and 70s. Against its historical backdrop, we experienced a time of prosperity and growth. The younger generation enjoyed freedoms that our parents could only dream of in their youth. We went through an exciting school time, parties, television, mopeds, rock music, and first love, but also faced the DDR border and RAF terror. So much of it we have almost forgotten. But some of it can be rediscovered when embarking on a journey back to childhood and youth in Lübeck.
