The present poetry collection "Recorded Transcendence" by Boris Shapiro includes a composition titled "Lunar Cryptography" and a collection of poems created in the 21st century called "Seraphic Hymns." It is the author's twenty-first book. Shapiro has something to say and to tell; he does this not only for the reader but together with them. Shapiro's poetry arises from musical-architectural sensations that merge into a sonorous sound structure. This sound music is shaped by Shapiro into rhythms, metaphors, rhyme, and stanzas, into words and sentences. Whether in German or Russian depends on many circumstances. Shapiro cultivates the classical genres of poetry but also discovers new forms and sound compositions.
