Not only the overall plan of the work contributed to the creation of the two volumes dedicated to the pathological anatomy of the eye, the first of which is now being published. The need for a comprehensive presentation of the histological changes in the diseases of all parts of the eye has long been so palpable that one can say without exaggeration that every scientifically and clinically interested colleague felt this lack acutely whenever they wanted to delve into a relevant question or even a related problem.
