Matto Kämpf, a grandmaster of satire, presents a new book. This time, satire comes to us in the form of a novel: Three cultural journalists from a medium-sized and mediocre newspaper drag themselves through everyday life. Their routine consists of a dull editorial office, plenty of music, and a lot of alcohol. Although they are only 35, they feel old. And for their age, they are indeed quite quirky and eccentric. What they do best is complain: From their perspective, the past is a lump of regret, the future a diffuse fog, and the present a struggle. A road movie begins when a CD from the Chinese punk band "Aunt Iguana" lands in the editorial office, sparking unexpectedly great enthusiasm and a sense of adventure in the three procrastinators. Nevertheless, they will not become heroes of a coming-of-age story: Whether they end up in Beijing, Naples, or Lyon, they find themselves in their adventures.
