The task of being human consists solely in recognizing the connection between the formation of the self and suffering. There is nothing more to understand. Then an enormous step occurs: the person takes full responsibility for their suffering. They stop projecting onto God, others, and humanity, for they know: suffering is the price for my self-formation, my freedom. Our existence is grounded in polarity. The step from unity into polarity is called self-formation, guilt, sin. Living in this division, we are forced to make constant decisions. Yet with each decision, we can only realize one pole and must inevitably leave the other pole unrealized. The only goal of humanity is to overcome this division and return to unity.
