Just before Christmas Eve, a massive snowstorm hits the otherwise mild island of Bornholm. Ole, a local reporter for a daily newspaper, is supposed to cover the event, even though he feels more suited for analyzing world events. By chance, he finds himself in an armored vehicle, where the young soldier Eric is urgently on his way: a woman in a snowbound village is expecting a child, and Eric is supposedly tasked with bringing the midwife to her. However, as soon as Tamara gets on board, not only does a storm front brew outside, but especially among the three very different individuals, tensions rise. When the vehicle gets stuck in the snowstorm, the reporter sees only one way to get the big story he desperately needs: delving into the inner lives of his fellow passengers. In "Aurora," Sascha Reh tells a very different kind of Christmas story.
