The brilliant hacker Alice is tasked with tracking down the richest person in the world, MESMER. After the great division of the world, half of its inhabitants live in the virtual 'Captcha'. Therefore, Alice follows a trail that leads her to Panama. However, her meeting with the powerful man does not go as expected. Soon, she must realize that nothing is as it seemed before. The hunter becomes the hunted, and she must rediscover whom she can trust. Alice has to put everything she has into this. Her journey takes her to the gambling city of Frankfurt, into the catacombs of Cologne Cathedral, and to dubious fame. To stand up to MESMER, she must learn to not only rediscover her world but also herself.
