The 300-meter-long film frieze of the Rhine and Neckar by Stuttgart artist Ulrich Bernhardt has adorned the Killesberg tram station since 1993. A picture book has now been published, complemented by texts about the stations from Irene Ferchl, Prof. Nils Büttner, and Petra von Olschowski, the rector of the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart. This elaborate volume, designed at the Institute for Book Design and Media Development of the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart, provides insights into the creation history of the film frieze. It addresses the challenges faced by the art and culture project as well as the reasons that led to its successful realization. The numerous color images capture the refined aesthetics of the film frieze and are beautifully complemented by the lyrical passages from Irene Ferchl.
