In his debut "Over There!", young illustrator and author Simon Schwartz tells the story of his parents' difficult decision to leave East Germany forever in the early 1980s. In doing so, they not only oppose the omnipresent dictatorship of the workers' and farmers' state but also inevitably confront parts of their own families and origins. From that point on, their only son would grow up between two German states. Simon Schwartz intertwines an important chapter of recent German history with his own personal story.
