Sylvia leaves her parental home to attend a boarding school in Lagos. In her imagination, she envisions herself having numerous adventures like Enid Blyton's "Famous Five." However, what awaits her is a system of oppression. With her idea of a "European adventure," she embarks on a new chapter of her life as a toilet attendant at Hamburg Central Station. But the reality in Germany in 2017 is different from what she expected. Nigerian author Sylvia Ofili and Hamburg illustrator Birgit Weyhe tell a gripping story of a life in two worlds. Weyhe wonderfully captures the oscillation between the fantastical and the real in her graphics. This is great storytelling and, despite the apparent simplicity of the line work, also great visual art.
