The protagonist of this Western series is the fearless officer of the Confederate Army, Alexis Mac Coy. Equipped with the features of a Robert Redford and inspired by the real person of Southern General "Jeb" Stuart, the title character became the star of one of the great European Western classics. In 1974, the great Spanish comic artist Antonio Hernández Palacios began adapting the scripts of Jean-Pierre Gourmelen, and together they created this popular Western series for the planned French "Lucky Luke" magazine. In Germany, many of the adventures were published starting in 1980 under the label "Die grossen Edelwestern." Now, after over 40 years, the complete edition is being released by avant-verlag in brilliant quality and bibliophile design.
