Product details
Ascona in the summer of 1933. A young woman and her lover spend the summer in the delightful nest by Lake Maggiore. The journey becomes an emotional adventure. Amidst a colorful crowd of free spirits, the two find themselves tempted in their own ways. In 1933, the German-Jewish writer Victoria Wolff emigrated with her children to the legendary artists' village at Monte Verità, where she befriended, among others, Tilla Durieux, Leonhard Frank, Erich Maria Remarque, and Ignazio Silone. A seemingly light-hearted novel with many nuances, it was first published as a preview in the Neue Zürcher Zeitung in 1933. Includes historical photographs and an afterword by Anke Heimberg.
