Living with carcinoma is characterized by lengthy therapies, frequent changes from progression to remission, social and psychological changes, and final stages of the disease. The challenge of the health care system is to make the necessary assistance accessible to those suffering from cancer. Aspects of medical, nursing, social, psychological and rehabilitative care must be taken into account.
