As a former co-dependent individual, the author wished for a change in his life. However, since he was unaware of this illness and addiction for a long time, he didn't know where to start in reclaiming his quality of life. He posed many personal questions to himself: How much more did he have to endure in his life? Why is it so difficult to recognize his own behavior patterns, and why is it so painful to acknowledge and accept them? These questions marked the beginning of a process that could not be managed through thinking and philosophizing alone. The training to become a life and social counselor helped the author give his life a new quality. Self-experience, talk therapy, and psychodrama (role-playing) held the key to his self-discovery. An adventure from the here and now into the past.
