This thesis aims to present the simplified environmental impact assessment procedure in broad outlines. This presentation should also provide a good guide for non-lawyers to gain an overview of the structures and processes involved. Furthermore, in areas where discrepancies arise between legislation and jurisprudence, the respective problem areas will be highlighted. The thesis focuses exclusively on the first, second, and sixth sections of the environmental impact assessment procedure. The third and fourth sections are excluded as they pertain to the transport sector, which represents a special problem area in environmental impact assessment. This area has many special regulations that take into account specific approval criteria and party representation rules.
