Product details

The expulsion of Germans from the former eastern territories of the German Reich at the end of World War II, during which about fourteen million mostly innocent people were stripped of all their possessions and driven from their homeland, which had been inhabited by their German-speaking ancestors for centuries, is one of the greatest crimes in human history. In addition to the suffering caused by the loss of home and property, many of them were also violated, murdered, or tortured in concentration camps specifically set up for this purpose. This book presents the background, facts, and connections surrounding the expulsion of approximately three million Germans from the area of present-day Czech Republic, unlike many parts of the German media landscape, which have neglected the expulsion of the Sudeten Germans for decades.
