Although Anton Dvořák left behind a substantial body of work for solo piano, young pianists and less advanced amateurs are usually introduced to the composer’s sound world through the same well-known pieces. However, in the shadow of these popular works lie many other compositions that have been unjustly neglected or even forgotten, which can provide an ideal entry point into Dvořák's piano music due to their relatively low technical demands.

The editor, Tomáš Vacek, an excellent pianist, educator, and expert on Dvořák's piano works, has selected appealing compositions from various periods of the composer’s output for this album. The collection includes both popular, frequently performed pieces—such as the dance miniatures "Two Little Pearls"—as well as nearly unknown works like the untitled "Composition in G Major." The pieces are arranged progressively, from short, relatively easy works to more extensive and somewhat more challenging compositions.
