The Indonesian street food journey takes you from the Muslim-influenced island of Java to the Hindu-influenced Bali, through magnificent landscapes past volcanoes, mango, rice, and chili fields, markets, and temples, and of course to plenty of food stalls and small restaurants that often have only a single dish on the menu, which is particularly delicious here. The stories of these "kitchens on wheels" and the people who run them are told here, along with typical recipes to try at home.
